Itrat F. Raza

Director, Pakistan

Dr. Itrat Fatima is a medical doctor with an MBBS and an MA in Sociology from Pakistan. With clinical experience spanning Sindh and Punjab, Pakistan, her work in remote, underserved areas of Pakistan profoundly shaped her perspective on healthcare and social development. In these communities, where basic healthcare was often a luxury, Itrat witnessed the harsh realities of maternal and child mortality and the cyclical nature of poverty exacerbated by limited educational opportunities.

Her transition into public health saw her contributing towards improving immunization coverage in Karachi’s urban slums. This experience deepened her understanding of the transformative impact of accessible healthcare and the vital role of health education in empowering communities at grassroots. Driven by a passion for equity and social justice, Itrat firmly believes that access to health and education are not just services, but fundamental human rights and essential drivers of sustainable development.
