Chief Program Officer

As a Chief Program Officer, Mariam Mehmood leads the design, development, and scale-up of innovative public health and social impact programs that advance health equity in complex settings. She brings a pragmatic, systems-oriented approach, guiding initiatives from concept to pilot to scale, while ensuring each phase is grounded in evidence, data analytics, and community insight.

With over a decade of experience, Mariam has directed large-scale, multisectoral portfolios that bridge research and implementation. She managed a USD $30 million program portfolio in Pakistan, leading a team of 180+ professionals and cultivating strategic partnerships with governments and global donors.

Her leadership was pivotal in deploying Pakistan’s first Electronic Immunization Registry (EIR), a digital platform managing over 147 million records, and scaling a conditional cash transfer program that improved immunization coverage among two million low-income families. She also advanced integrated programs linking health, education, livelihood, and civic participation, empowering adolescent girls to pursue learning and economic opportunities.

Mariam actively contributes to global dialogues on digital health, systems strengthening, and gender equity through more than 25 publications and technical engagements. She holds an MSc in Economics from Queen Mary University of London and is dedicated to building resilient, data-driven systems that translate innovation into sustainable impact.
