Waqas Zulfikar Sangi

Head of Coordination and Partnerships

Waqas Zulfikar Sangi is a strategic leader in partnerships, coordination, and digital transformation, with over a decade of experience advancing public health, education, and youth development across underserved contexts. As Head of Coordination and Partnerships at Grassroots, he leads efforts to build and sustain high-impact collaborations across sectors, aligning initiatives with community needs, policy environments, and long-term development goals.

With a background in technology, global development, and social innovation, Waqas brings expertise in strategic partnerships, complex program management, and scalable digital solutions. Prior to joining Grassroots, he led digital transformation and secure communication initiatives in tech and marketplace sectors, and earlier designed surveillance and defense-grade systems, demonstrating technical rigor in high-stakes environments.

A strong advocate for technology for social good, Waqas has contributed to global AI initiatives and international leadership programs focused on digital inclusion and equitable development. He also teaches and mentors emerging leaders in International Relations, Gender Studies, Governance, and Public Policy, promoting critical thinking and policy literacy among future changemakers.

Waqas is a recipient of the IREX Project Management Fellowship, holds a Bachelor of Engineering from NED University, Pakistan, and is an alumnus of the US Global UGRAD Exchange Semester at the University of New Mexico, USA.
